Yay, I shout, in the office as a neatly packaged parcel arrives on my desk... I open it carefully, looking forward to my second glimpse of this product. Spotify is next ( I know that this is a high level business phone, but I have priorities ) and I kick off with Slow Blues in C which is a good test of both higher and lower frequencies. It sounds great so I get the small USB-C dongle out of the case and start setting it up to my PC. Seeing as I mentioned the case I will point out that the Evolve3 folds neatly into a very thin case which will make it eminently portable.
I was initially rather suspicious about the lack of a mouthpiece on this. Of course, the boomless design makes it look nicer, makes it more portable, makes it look less like a business accessory; but was this going to be at the expense of the prime USP of a headset - sound transmission. Well, the answer is no. I made a few Teams calls that morning ( and Google Meet and Zoom as well ) and even as the volume levels in the office rose, I was clearly audible at the other end of the 'line' whilst my incoming call clarity was second to none.
